Terms of Service

Welcome to SchoolConnect. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SchoolConnect school management platform and its associated websites and applications. By using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

SchoolConnect is a business-to-business cloud school management service for preschools, childcare centers and after-school programs. It provides attendance and check-in, a daily contact book, classroom and student management, announcements and notifications, and invoice records.

Our contracting counterparty is the school. Guardian and staff access is provisioned and managed by the school, which may add, change or revoke it at any time.

Pilot phase: the Service is currently in a pilot phase. Features are still under active development and may change, be suspended, or be interrupted.

2. Accounts and access

  • Accounts are invitation-based. Staff accounts are created by a school administrator; guardian accounts are opened by email invitation from the school or by linking a LINE account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Accounts must not be shared or transferred.
  • If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, change your password immediately and notify your school and us.
  • Invitation links expire and can be used only once.

3. Acceptable use

When using the Service you must not:

  • Attempt to access data belonging to any child, classroom or school other than your own, or circumvent the Service’s permission and isolation mechanisms
  • Scrape data in bulk, or conduct penetration testing, load testing, or any action intended to disrupt or damage the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service
  • Distribute or publish other people’s personal data obtained through the Service (including children’s photos), or use it for any purpose other than the one for which it was provided
  • Upload malware, unlawful content, or material that infringes the rights of others
  • Violate the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or the rights of any third party

We may suspend or terminate access where we identify a violation, and may notify the school to which the account belongs.

4. Content and intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Service’s software, source code, interface design, trademarks, logos and documentation belong to SchoolConnect or its licensors. Using the Service does not transfer any of those rights to you beyond what these Terms expressly grant.

Content uploaded or created by schools, staff and guardians — including student records, contact book entries and photographs — remains the property of the school or the relevant rights holder. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, limited to what is necessary to operate, back up and provide the Service, to store, reproduce and transmit that content.

We do not use your content for advertising, public display, or to train artificial intelligence models.

5. Fees

The Service is provided free of charge during the pilot phase. If we begin charging, we will notify schools in advance and the change will take effect only with the school's agreement. A school that does not agree may terminate before the change takes effect at no cost.

The Service records invoices and payment status, butprocesses no online payments and never collects or stores card numbers or other payment instrument data. How tuition is actually collected is agreed between the school and the guardian.

6. Changes, suspension and termination

  • We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service for feature changes, maintenance or security reasons.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to notify schools in advance of planned maintenance.
  • A school may terminate its use of the Service at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate access where a school materially breaches these Terms and fails to remedy the breach within a reasonable period after notice.

After termination, a school may request export or return of its data within 30 days. If no request is made, we will delete all of the school’s data within 90 days of termination, except accounting records we are required by law to retain. See the Privacy Policy for details of how data is handled.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. During the pilot phase we make no express or implied warranty as to uninterrupted or error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or the absolute integrity of stored data.

The Service is a tool that assists school administration. Itdoes not replace a school’s statutory duties of care, reporting and record-keeping under applicable education and childcare regulations. Schools remain responsible for keeping whatever records the law requires.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or loss of goodwill arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the total fees the school actually paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. During the free pilot phase that cap is NT$0.

These limitations do not apply to damage caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or to any liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms. Revisions are published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date; for material changes we will additionally notify the schools using the Service. Continuing to use the Service after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of it.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them, are governed bythe laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The parties agree that the Taiwan Taichung District Court shall be the court of first instance for any such dispute, save where exclusive jurisdiction is provided by law.

11. Contact

SchoolConnect is in a pilot phase and is not yet incorporated. Once registration is complete we will add our legal entity name, unified business number and registered address to this section, and update the date at the top of this page.
